And in a surprise January 6th committee hearing that wrapped up just a few moments ago, a former

White House insider painted a dramatic portrait of a president

unhinged on January 6th, willing to defy the wishes and warnings of his lawyers, his advisors,

and his secret service detail in an effort to overturn the election and to try to march with his

armed supporters to the Capitol. The star witness today was this young woman,

a 25-year-old, Cassidy Hutchinson, an aide to then-chief of staff, Mark Meadows. She was in the

West Wing and with President Trump on January 6th, literally in the room where all of this happened.

Hutchinson describing the warnings received from the White House that the rally could turn violent that went unanswered by Meadows.

She also recounted how President Trump was angry that his supporters couldn't get through magnetometers,

those security machines at his rally at the ellipse that morning because they were armed,

which she says both the president and Mr. Meadows knew.

I was in the vicinity of a conversation where I overheard the president say something to the

effect of, you know, I don't effing care that they have weapons. They're not here to hurt me.
