0:00.0	The bread and butter of conservatives and conservative media for years now has been
0:04.8	hyping up an investigation into President Biden's adult son Hunter Biden.
0:09.4	It never seemed to end.
0:11.6	The investigation, which was open in 2018 under Trump's Justice Department,
0:16.0	has been used as a black box of sorts by Republicans.
0:19.5	They used it to create a symmetry that didn't really exist between Trump's alleged crimes,
0:25.6	and what they speculated was the crime-ridden Biden family.
0:29.3	And so long as this case was open, and the investigation was behind closed doors,
0:34.3	it could really make it whatever they wanted it to be.
0:37.7	And even though that was the case, even though Republicans have been
0:40.9	dining out on this Hunter investigation for years, they also have been up in arms
0:45.7	about how it hadn't finished yet.
0:47.8	They were aghast that Trump was indicted before Hunter.
0:51.2	They wanted Hunter's case resolved immediately.
0:54.1	Well, today we have some closure in that case.
0:57.3	Today we've got the news that Hunter Biden is expected to enter a plea deal for two
1:01.0	tax misdemeanors in that investigation.
1:03.8	He is also expected to strike a deal with prosecutors to resolve a felony gun charge.
1:08.8	All of which means that after five years of investigating, and after years of conservatives
1:14.2	claiming this was the investigation that would topple the whole Biden family,
1:19.8	Hunter is likely to plead guilty to two misdemeanors and serve some probation.
1:24.4	But this is what Republicans wanted, right?
