Remarks made some time ago about a tax code that is unfair,

directed at, hostile to, suspicious of,

people without children, odd.

So I welcome Verenique to Regi to help me understand this. People without

children do not have to pay for health care for the children, education for the children, bicycles for the children,

car insurance costs extra when you have somebody under a certain age

driving your vehicle.

I could go on, it's expensive children and very good evening to you what is the

benign version about Senator Benson's remarks about punishing people with the

tax code who do not have children.

Well, so when Senator Vance said this,

I assume he was talking about our demographic needs. I mean fertility rates are down in the

U.S. and that is a source of concerns for sure and I assume this is part of what he was having in mind

trying to incentivize people to have kids by penalizing them through the tax code.

The reality is that these type of things don't work. In fact, our tax code

penalizes people who do not have children. We have the Earned Income Tax Credit,

which is more generous for parents, for people with kids and with those without kids.
