Hey, deserving listeners. A few of you asked me to make an episode in which I talked about the movies of 2025 that I watched and liked in TV shows, I guess. And so I thought I would do that. So if you're looking for psychology content, this episode is not for you. But if you're looking for an old guy talking about movies and TV shows that he

0:23.5

likes, then this is right up your alley. So I'm just going to look at my IMDB rating history and

0:33.1

just talk about it, random. I hopefully rated everything that I saw.

0:42.3

I sometimes fail to rate TV shows that I watch, but I think I always will rate movies.

0:49.4

It's one of the first things I do when the credits start rolling in a movie theater.

0:52.7

Anyway, so this list I'm

0:56.2

realizing includes things that came out this past year, 2025, but also things that came out long before.

1:03.8

Like this first one that I rated most recently a couple of days ago, the movie from 1974

1:09.6

titled Where the Red Fern Grows.

1:12.9

So I feel like I just want to talk about where the red fern grows for a second.

1:18.4

When I was a kid, there were only a handful of books that were talked about a lot among people that were around me.

1:29.2

I don't know if they were just talking about these books because of me being a boy or these are the sort of books that they talked. I don't

1:35.5

know. But I heard about The Hobbit. I heard about Lord of the Rings. I heard about Shogun and my family,

1:40.1

the, you know, the Japanese angle there and the TV show in the 80s, but also where the red

1:44.9

friend grows. In fact, I had a teacher in fourth grade who would read this book to us,

1:52.8

but we never got all the way through it. And as someone that didn't know he was dyslexic myself,

1:59.3

I always wanted to read stories to, you know, to

2:05.0

consume stories or enter that world of books, but I struggled reading and still do. And it

2:13.7

wasn't until audio books were available at the library because audiobooks are expensive,

2:20.0

you know, back in the day when you would buy the cassettes.

2:23.2

And when they started coming out in the library, I was like, oh, my God, this opens up a hole

2:27.9

into the world, and then audible and blah, blah, blah, and then podcasting.
