six-party talks. It's the business from KCRW.

I can imagine Hollywood everything is really driven by making money. What's with him?

I'm afraid he's gone to Hollywood, Hollywood. I'm joined in the studio by the business producer, Holtzman. Matt, what's up?

Well, everyone probably has heard by now that Paula Abdul has announced that she's leaving American Idol,

and everyone seems to be going completely insane because of it.

Yes, and I guess maybe by the time we're on the air, we'll know whether this was an overplayed negotiating hand or a calling of Fox's bluff.

But Fox has said that they are saddened, that she has chosen not to return.

Now, Paul Abdul tweeted her decision to leave, and she did it the day before the Fox executives had to go before the

gathered television critics in Pasadena. They were there for their annual meeting, and they

take questions from the critics, and Paula timed this so that the entire session where they're

supposed to talk about the fall season would be dominated by her.

So your claim is that, you know, based on the timing that this whole thing was just a big negotiating
