podcast and in this podcast we've got to deal with the unexpected.

You know, when you cover a trial, you know, when you're a person like me who's been doing this for years,

we get a little jaded and we kind of expect certain things to happen and when they don't it is it is surprising.

I always see I never know what a jury is going to do.

But this one this one really did take me back a little bit. I'm surprised. I'm talking about the movie

Popcorn Murder Trial and Curtis Reeves eight years ago shot and killed a man in a movie theater.

There was an argument that began when the man he shot was using his cell phone and you know two different versions of who was

yelling at who or who was being more rude but it all started when Curtis Reeves

pointed out to Chad Olson that he was using his cell phone during the movie previews.

Reeves goes to a manager and then when he comes back from talking with the manager,

the argument sort of continues, not clear who was at fault here but then at some point

Chad Olson according to Curtis Reeves throws his cell phone at him and then

grabs his popcorn throws it in his face, and as the popcorn is falling to the ground,

Curtis Reeves shoots and kills Chad Olson. Curtis Reeves claimed self-defense.

The prosecution said it was murder and the jury spoke. Take a listen.
