Philippians chapter 4, verse 11.

I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.

Don't you wish you could say this in your life?

I've learned to be content with whatever's happening in my life, whatever

my financial situation might be, whatever my relationship status might be, whatever

notifications might pop up, whatever might be happening in the news. I've learned to be content,

whatever the circumstances. I think that's what

all of us want. And yet the secret to contentment isn't what we think it is. We think, just intuitively,

that the secret to contentment is getting things the way we want it. If I just had this,

if this situation would just unfold this way, then I'd be happy, I'd be content

if that happened. And yet here's what I want you to see on this commitment weekend is that

the secret to contentment is commitment. I'm going to throw those two words up on the screen.

Commitment and contemptentment. Commitment to condemn it. Like if you say it it fast it seems like the same word similar

spellings same amount of syllables and yet we would I think consider these to be in some ways

opposites like commitment sounds like something that cost you. We're leery of it.

We're not too quick to make it.

But contentment is something that all of us are chasing.
