The Sentinel: Skate-sei Gonz sits back in his chair, his mind wanders back to the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. "You, Gonz, can bring honor to whole team." His coach says softly, "but if you fail… you are ugly horrible person. You know what to do." That day Gonz skated as if his life depended on it. He weaved in and out of his competitors, making his way to the front. His rival John Grease was the only thing between him and the gold medal. With samurai speed he extended his arm and shoved Grease out of the way, not even the cameras were fast enough to catch the illegal move. As Grease fell to the ground, Gonz skated past the finish line in a roar of glory. A gold medal was placed around his neck. In Gonz's heart though he knew what he had done, and it did not sit well with him. That very moment he made a silent vow to pursue a purer form of Roller Skating.
