On today's episode, we are going to continue with something that we started a couple months ago.

We've kind of slacked off on it a little bit because we've had a lot of other stuff to talk about with all the public land stuff that was going on and everything else.

But we're going to continue our species-specific podcast series that we started back in, should I think, February, right, Wes? I think it was February, January, February, March, somewhere on there. Anyways. Yeah, somewhere on there. You can go back. You can listen to the, we did one with Tim Brown on pheasants. We did, you and I did Sharp Tales and Huns. I can't remember if we did any other ones yet. But I think that's all that we did. But there was a really good response to the ones that we did

before. And there was a lot more questions as far as the other species of game birds that we

typically hunt throughout our

season. We have George McNamara here that's going to play sort of, well, he doesn't have

the same experience traveling, bird hunting that Wes and I do. So we're going to get somebody

that comes from the East Coast that now lives here in North Dakota.

We're going to get some of his questions that he would ask on, and this is actually, he got

to pick the bird species because it's one that kind of interests him a little bit.

But today we're going to talk about mountain grouse in Montana.

So I want to start by saying that I do not have any first-hand experience past Montana for chasing any of these three species.

I would assume that this, you know, like when it comes to blue grouse or what you know they're dusky they're blue

grouse let's set that in stone right now they are uh duskies and cities coastal versus inland

i call them blue grouse that's what they were called for a long time that's i don't know

why we have to keep on splitting all these things into subspecies.

But we're going to talk about the different species of grouse, specifically in Montana,

even though you can chase rough grouse and blue grouse in Utah, places in Nevada, Idaho, Washington, Oregon.

I have very little experience with chasing these birds outside of Montana,

but I've been doing what we call the Montana Grouselam since 2017-ish, so almost 10 years,
