Well, let me just say this.

I don't know if there's any runners in the room,

but if you are a runner and you want to shave a few seconds off of your splits

just basically overnight, then all you need to do is

stop looking at the ground when you run and lift up your gaze and look and run. As you run,

look exactly where you're going. Because as you begin to focus on what is ahead of you, I promise

you it will be the difference

between running passively and running with intentionality.

I remember when I ran cross-country in high school, really in large part, the success of my race

was really dependent upon whether I chose to run with passivity or

intentionality. Inevitably, when I would run and just look at the ground, I would never

stop running, but I would absolutely stop racing. But when I would lift my gaze and I would

begin to look at where I was headed, especially

when the finish line would kind of come into view.

Even if it was a long way away, I began to run with greater purpose and intentionality

and expectancy because I began to run with the end in mind, especially when I could see the finish line,

I began to run for what awaited me at the finish line, which was specifically the opportunity to stop running.
