Rebecca Park was 22 years old and 38 weeks pregnant when she climbed into a vehicle with her biological mother on November 3rd.

According to Courtney Bartholomew, they were going to get ice cream and tidepods, a quick errand,

and she would be back later.

Rebecca was never seen alive again.

22 days later, a volunteer searcher found her body in the Manistee National Forest, about two

and a half miles from the Bartholomey residents in Boone, Michigan.

Her abdomen had been cut open.

The placenta and umbilical cord were hanging out.

She had 13 stab wounds to her back, arm, neck, and face.

And her body was covered in leaves.

The baby was gone.

Yeah. Yeah.

And like a family reunion.

And here's where the case crosses from tragic to something else entirely,

something the Wexford County prosecutor called Evil Personified in open court.

Because according to the 18-page probable cause affidavit released, Courtney Bartholomew

allegedly admitted to investigators that her daughter was conscious when she cut the baby

out of her, that Bradley Bartholomew, Courtney's husband, Rebecca's stepfather, was holding a knife to Rebecca's throat while it happened and that after the baby was removed after Courtney allegedly tried to tie off the umbilical cord Bradley slit Rebecca's throat.
