Welcome back my friends. I'm here at Halverson. This is Unshaken and today we start with a story.

If this story makes sense then hopefully all the scriptures we're going to study this week will make sense as well.

For this one we have to go back to the summer of 1996. I was 21 years old nearing the end of my mission. In fact, I was

one month away from being finished. And that was devastating to me. I wanted to extend permanently.

And yet my mission president, I've been serving alongside him for the last

seven months and he sat me down and said, Elder Halverson, you got one more month. And I'm like, yeah, stop rubbing it in. And he said,

what do you want to do for your last month? And I thought this was a test, and I was going to pass it.

So I said, well, I want to do whatever you want me to do,

president.

That's the way it goes.

And he said, no, seriously, where would you like to spend your last month?

You want to stay here in the office?

Great.

Love to have you.

You want to go back to one of your old areas?

Take your pick.

Do you want to train for a month?

It'd be quick, but you could start the process.

Or do you want to go be a zone leader again a district

leader you want to go back to the you want to go on to the Virgin Islands which was

like yes obviously that was every missionary's dream in Puerto Rico he left it up to

me and again I was like that's not how it works president.
