this idea that the church is hiding something that we would have to say as two apostles who have

covered the world and know the history of the church and know the integrity of the first

presidency in the corner of the 12th from the beginning of time. There has been no attempt on the

part in any way of the church leaders trying to hide anything from anybody.

for the first time back again for the first time and it is a whole new experience tonight folks RFM how are you doing I'm doing great I'm really excited about tonight's episode I've been doing a lot of research and hopefully able to encapsulate what it is I want to say in a reasonable amount of time Yeah I am excited as well this is going to be a ton of fun somebody just just said and you're right elder Ballard also liar liar pants on fire there's a lot of that going on in church leadership over

the last 200 years. And we're going to be hitting on some of this through the story of Mark

Hoffman. For folks who haven't seen it, Netflix put out a special murder among the Mormons.

RFM and I have both watched it as probably all of you. And RFM tonight is your week. You prepared

an episode on Mark Hoffman. Why don't you get us started, my friend? I get this is really why the

leaders of the church need to pay more tithing because they really need the fire insurance.

Yeah, I'm scared inside Mormon joke. Yeah, you probably most people got. You got to have that

holy ghost, right? Yeah. Well, I want to talk about Mark Hoffman tonight, but I want to do it

differently than the Netflix series, but this series now murder among the Mormons has gotten so

much interest once again in this episode in church history that I wanted to revisit it. Now,

the Netflix series is a great job of painting this as a true crime. It's a great true crime drama.

But what I want to focus on is really the reaction and the involvement of the church and its leaders.

Something that the Netflix series really did not focus on because they didn't have the time to

do it. It was kind of outside their bailiwick. I lived through this back in the 1980s. And after

it was all said and done, 1989 rolled around. I just graduated from law school and I got a little

time on my hands while I'm clerking half time at a local law office. And I take that time to read
