It's an amazing book.

But it basically chronicles the development of the priesthood and temple ban on Black Mormons from the

1830s and 40s to its abolishment in 1978.

We've done seven really important episodes.

We highly recommend that you watch them in sequence.

Today's episode covers the second half, the second three quarters of chapter four in the book.

And today we're going to be covering at least four really cool topics.

We're going to talk about two rogue apostles, one Hubie Brown, who was a member of the

first presidency and what he did to go rogue to fight for civil rights. And we're going to talk about

Esantab Benson Mormon Apostle,

eventual prophet who went rogue trying to oppose civil rights as well.

We're also going to be talking about Governor George Romney, Father Mitt Romney, and his attempt at running for president and how that was an inconvenient problem for the church, as well as Stuart Udall and other Mormon

slash lapsed Mormon congressman and and what they both did to kind of cause headaches for Mormon church leadership.

And then also we're just going to talk generally about civil rights, the fight for or against civil rights, both in the United States and in Utah,

specifically and how the Mormon Church and Mormon Apostles got involved.
