Hello everyone and welcome to the Girls' Camp podcast. I'm your host, Haley Rawl.

And today we are tackling the nature of God.

Just girly things.

Wondering if God exists, if God does exist, who they are and what they are.

I think this is a question that one must confront.

Probably any person wonders about this and thinks about this, but certainly those of us who

have deconstructed our faith, because usually when you're deconstructing any sort of belief

framework, you are also deconstructing a specific idea of God. And so, you know, those of us who left

Mormonism or Christianity of some sort, I think we've also had to take a hard look at what our

beliefs are about God. So we're going to do that together today.

I'm going to tell you about my own deconstruction around what I call a traditional idea of God

and spoiler alert. I consider myself agnostic, but probably leaning toward atheism. We'll talk about it. Then we're going to talk about

the Mormon idea of God. I pulled some really interesting quotes and scriptures to talk about,

you know, what I used to believe about God. And I think it's really interesting to think about

that and how that informed my whole Mormon

experience and my experience leaving Mormonism.

Then I'm going to do a very brief overview of ideas and concepts and perceptions of God

and or gods throughout history.
