Your team every day. My name is Nick Engstead hosting this show alongside Isaac Harris, the Wilmard Thing King. We went to his introductory press conference today, not Isaacs, Morris Johnson Jr.' And we learned a lot about him, at least I did.

I got to hear about a bunch of different things about his past, about what he thinks about himself as a basketball player, about his relationship with Cooper Flag, a bunch of different things like that. We'll play some clips on this one, and we'll just talk about his introductory press conference that happened today today and I want to start here because Morris Johnson, Jr. got to share who he was

and say, hey, this is who I am. This is who the Dallas Mavericks are getting and this is who the fans

are getting. And these are words that he used to describe himself. I say my motor is unbelievable,

competitive, guard one through five, physical,

want to win, being able to switch, being able to guard more than one position, competitor,

guy that wants to win, do whatever it takes to win, very versatile on both ends of the floor,

rebound very well, great teammate, pressuring the ball, forcing a lot of turnovers and getting

deflections. I don't think I showed everyone how I can put the ball on the floor. I didn't, I didn't need to at Michigan. I had a very good team and just continue to expand my range. Those are at the end. Those are things that he wants to be able to do. He didn't play basketball growing up until about sixth grade. Started playing basketball in sixth grade. That's when I set a goal that I had a dream to, you know, come to the NBA, play in the NBA and it felt like I was able to accomplish it. Probably my sophomore year, he said, going into junior year. He was talking to, you know, coach at Illinois, and they were, you know, building me up and telling me that they see a future in me. And that's when he realized that his NBA dream that had basically just gone, like seventh grade to seventh grade

to like sophomore year.

It's like a four year period he went from like picking up a basketball to realizing he

can make the NBA.

Incredible.

An incredible leap right there was something that I learned today.

But in just all the things that Morse Johnson Jr. described his game as is an incredible

culture-setting piece for the Dallas Mavericks. We've got Cooper Flagg. You've got the number

one. Now you've got to get all the supporting cast pieces around him. And you weren't going to get

a star player at that ninth pick, right? Those guys are gone probably in the one through four range.

Even the next

guards. We're going to be solid guards, but we're not necessarily going to be the all-star type guards. Maybe Aikov can get there. Maybe Keaton Wogler or Michael Brown in a few years. Maybe Fleming does it every once in a while. But you're going to get at just a solid piece. And I think Morris Johnson Jr. is going to bring all those things that you want.
