that quick renovation for a room just that one room becomes a whole house renovation pretty quick

sometimes in life there are things that are more than meets the eye and within our passage today

we will find this phrase accurately apply to the decision that Joshua makes in which there certainly was

more than meets the eye. According to the Bible, you and I live in a world that is under the sway

of the wicked one. And that wicked one uses his devices and tactics that he launches against the believer to trip us up.

It's been well said that Satan plays with loaded dice.

He knows human nature better than most.

And it is this reality which can cause decision-making that much more

difficult. Many people in this life make decisions based on how they feel, based upon what

looks best. Even many believers really don't know how to make decisions that line up with the will of God.

They just make assumptions, do what makes the most sense, and hope for the best.

And yet as believers, have we not been called to walk by faith and not by sight?

But how do we do that? To wait on the Lord, but what does that look

like? To follow God's leading, but how does this happen? Well, tonight we're going to talk about

just some of those things. The book of Joshua, if you're unfamiliar, begins with the handoff

of a long-time leadership from Moses to Joshua.

Joshua is now the man. He's the one to take, pick up where Moses left off and lead, finally,

lead the children of Israel into that promised land.

Now up to this point, as we come to chapter nine, they have successfully crossed over the

Jordan River.

They've taken the mighty city of Jericho, and they defeated the nation of AI.
