Today we'll be doing that by looking at 1 Peter chapter 5 verses 2 through 3.

me for God's help as we seek to understand His word.

Our Lord and our God, you are the king of the church. You're the one who has created this body

of believers who are here to advance your kingdom and to spread your gospel. And so Lord,

we ask as we read today about responsibilities of those who lead the church,

you would give us insight and you would help us know how to encourage those who are in these

roles to do their role with zeal and with great diligence. We ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

Okay, 1. Peter 5, we started last episode talking about this role of elder or presbyter or shepherd or pastor, all interchangeable terms, the leaders in the local church.

Peter gives instructions here for them and he says they are to shepherd the flock of God that is among them.
