Dictionary announces what it thinks are the key words that have

really come to prominence in the previous 12 months.

Youth Quake

is defined as a significant cultural, political or social change arising from the

actions or influence of young people. Compromat. Mass noun. Compromising information collected for use in blackmailing,

discrediting or manipulating someone typically for political purposes.

Broflake. purposes. Brooflake.

Derrogatory.

Informal.

A man who is readily upset or offended by progressive attitudes that conflict with his more conventional or conservative views.

Well now, the Royal Statistical Society in the UK has attempted a similar thing, only with numbers.

It's asked members of the public to write in with

suggestions of what they think should be statistic of the year and the results are
