On the 60th anniversary of President Kennedy's famous moonshot speech, Biden set out to

loud his plan for a new American moonshot.

It's an effort to eradicate cancer.

He was at UMass Boston's JFK presidential library.

He actually began the initiative during his last day in the White House in 2016, when

he was vice president during the Obama administration.

He said the work continued in the years since will help to get rid of cancer.

He was in charge of $1.8 billion.

That bill was known as the 21st Century Cures Act.

It was signed into law into 2016.

And according to the American Cancer Society, more than 1.9 million people will learn they

have cancer this year, and more than 609,000 people will die from the disease.

So good on that.

However, Biden had a lot of things to say, but other stuff, unrelated to cancer.

He said we've gone from an economic crisis to an economic resurgence, and at the beginning

of the hour, top of the hour, 9 o'clock, we shared with you how the Consumer Price Index

is at 8.3%.

That's up 0.1% over last month.

So let's hear our president lie to us.
