growth of belief in conspiracy claims about the moon landings being staged.

I pointed out a late 90s survey that indicated 6% of respondents did not believe Americans went

to the moon.

And more recent data indicating that number has since grown to 12%.

However, there have been other studies that give a more nuanced understanding of the

growth of this belief.

A 2019 survey showed about 10% believed the landings weren't real, compared to the 2021 survey showing

12%.

Does this mean belief in the conspiracy claim grew 2% in two years?

No.

It means there's a margin of error. But the two polls both confirm the growth

of this belief. What's truly interesting is the data segmentation provided by that 2021 poll,

which I think I mistakenly said was Gallup in part one, like the 1999 data that gave us the 6% figure.
