No, they don't in the case of slim the Japanese engineers have now shut it down for the long lunar night.

Just to review, it landed upside down, so it's supposed solar panels faced the wrong way.

It didn't get power from the panel until late in the long 2014 long

lunar day and once it got powered up it did some photography, some reese work and then they had to shut it down because the

sun was setting and it wouldn't get power anymore

where they can survive the long fourteen day long lunar night uh... which is very doubtful. It wasn't designed to do that. It was designed

to prove a precise landing technology which it did succeed in doing. I've got

on behind the black one of its last picture which shows the nearby crater Shaioli.

It's only about 900 feet across.
