A major winter storm setting up to impact 40 states.

Fox Weather's Jay Minar says there's a good chance of widespread power outage due to ice.

From the Mississippi Valley into the southeast, we've also seen the power outage risk grow up the I-95 corridor, D.C. to New York City, the likelihood that we could lose power as we see snow move in by Sunday and perhaps a little sleep mixing in towards the back half of this.

As the storm turns toward the northeast, forecasters say we could see blockbuster amounts of snow with Washington, D.C., New York City, New England, expected to get at least a foot of snow.

Several states already declaring states of emergency, Massachusetts Governor Moore Haley, telling people to prepare now before the snow hits.

If you can do it, stay indoors this weekend. It's just going to be way too cold.

If you do have to go outdoors,

please dress warmly in layers, don't have exposed skin. Georgia emergency management director,

Josh Lamb. George State Troopers are prepared to respond and assist motors, but do us all

a favor and stay off the roads. The storm already disrupting air travel with more than 3,000 flights canceled through Sunday.

The U.S. Southern Command says it's conducted a strike on a vessel in the eastern Pacific,

killing two people, saying the ship was traveling along no narco-trafficking routes

and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations.

some biblical, some with swears, but really all saying the same thing.
