Erskine. I'm a comic, and I avoided this book for years because I didn't think sports stats

would be that compelling. But then I saw that Aaron Sorkin adapted it into a movie. And I thought,

well, if he can make Mark Zuckerberg interesting, maybe he can do the same thing with baseball.

And I'm David Vance. I once struck out in slow-pitched softball in front of my teenage crush,

at which point I concluded, this isn't a sport.

Moneyball shows that nerds can be good at sports too.

I mean, not playing them, but you know, choosing which jocks should play them.

Finally, a quick warning for parents. This episode contains some baseball. If your kids learn about it,

they may want to start playing and you will have to start watching some terrible games.

Baseball is such a tough sport to have one of your children play because with most other sports,

hockey, basketball, soccer, it's like when they're playing, you see them playing for a long time.

But in baseball, depending on how good your kid, even if they're great, it can take forever to wait to see your kid get up to bat.

Like when you go to a ballet recital with your little girl, it's the same as having a little boy play baseball because you're just waiting for like 75 minutes just to see them do something.

Yeah, it's almost like as a parent, if your kid is playing a sport, you want that sport to have a lot of two things.

A lot of cool moments and a lot of your kid and baseball has neither.

Soccer may not have the cool moments, but at least has your kid.
