Formerly working in private equity, Emily launched Vespot to change the conversation about money and empower women financially. Reflecting on her

years working in finance, she realised that she was not saving or investing enough and she could not

find the support to do so. She then decided to launch VesPod for women as a way to provide education

and a community for women to start breaking the taboo around money.

We spoke all about the steps we all need to take to begin saving,

why one in three millennials will never get on the property ladder and what to do about it.

How we can close the gender pay gap and why investing isn't as scary as it seems.

Welcome Emily to the podcast. Hello, thanks for having me.

I'm so excited today. We're going to be talking all about money, which is a topic you talk a lot about, but

probably a topic we often don't talk enough about. So I'm really excited to dive into it.

And you started an amazing platform called Vespod. So for people who aren't familiar about it,

I'd love you to explain a bit more about it and its mission. I created VesPod three

years ago after spending almost like eight years in banking and in finance. And I realized I didn't

know anything about managing my own finances, even if I was working in finance. So I wanted to

create a place for women to be able to have a safe conversation about money,

open up about money and learn.

So I created Vespot and we organize events, workshops.

We have an online newsletter.

So it's like all over like whatever social media platforms.
