Summary

If you've ever wondered what the Lawrence brothers, stars of such DCOMs as Horse Sense, Jumping Ship and The Other Me were up to in 2020, the answer is making Money Plane, a heist movie about a high stakes casino in the sky where you can bet on a man having relations with an alligator. Look, it was a bad year for everyone, alright?

The film follows Jack Reese (Edge), a retired Special Heisting Guy who is forced into taking down the Money Plane by the baddest mother-effer on the planet, Darius Emmanuel Grouch III AKA The Rumble (Kelsey Grammer). But will Jack's ragtag heist crew have what it takes to tussle with the Money Plane's clientele of arms dealers and Yosemite Sam cosplayers? Can they steal a billion dollars worth of crypto and make it out unscathed? And what are we actually betting on when we bet on a man f***ing an alligator? Listen and find out!

And I'm the other host, Luke Westaway, and welcome to a live recap of the film Moneyplane.

0:10.7

That's right. What you're about to hear was recorded live at the Islington Assembly Halls in London.

0:16.1

There were real people there. You're hearing their laughter. It is real, it's not a sound effect. And if you

0:22.5

were to check on that, you would find each laugh is unique and could not be recreated by a computer

0:27.9

or artificial intelligence in any way. That's right. We are bulletproof on this one, folks.

0:32.9

There was laughter in the room. You'll hear the proof. The proof's in the laughter, folks. You'll hear it. People were bust enough out there. And for people online who are saying that no one showed up and we performed to an empty room and then use generative AI to add in laughs after the facts. Can I just be clear and say, where's your proof? What I would say to those people is how do you know if nobody was there?

0:56.2

Ha! Yes. Very good. Very good, Andy. If someone knew about it, surely someone was there. So,

1:01.8

ergo, uh, QED, shut up. Yeah, that's the perfect cover up, Andy. That's brilliant. Thanks,

1:08.0

I thought so. Anyway, uh, so yeah, this was an absolute blast to record.

1:11.5

We had a great time. It was a wonderful night. As usual, there are a few audio clips that you're

1:17.3

going to hear from the movie Moneyplane. Some of them are quite visual. So don't worry,

1:21.4

Andy and I will be popping in to do sort of... With a nod and a wink.

1:26.2

In post audio description.

1:28.8

Quick as a flash and with a cheeky wink, we'll pop in and tell you what's happening.

1:32.7

Yeah, and be like, oh, there's a stupid drone or something and we'll describe it so that you're in on the...

1:36.8

You see, film is a visual medium and Andrew Lawrence, the director, is at the top of his game and one of the masters of the art form.

1:43.1

So we'll need to explain what's going on.

1:45.0

Exactly.

1:45.6

Right.

1:45.8

Without further ado, brace yourself, strap in, remain in the upright position for Moneyplane.
