Hello, in a day full of pomp and ceremony, there have been some pretty big announcements for renters and for landlords.

And in today's Moneybox Live podcast, we're looking at what's going to change.

His Majesty, King Charles, announced the government plans to build more homes.

My ministers will get Britain building, including through planning reform, as they seek to

accelerate the delivery of high-quality infrastructure and housing. And there's also a new renter's rights bill.

Legislation will be introduced to give greater rights and protections to people renting their homes,

including ending no-fault evictions and reforming grounds for possession.

But the problems in rental run deep. Official figures show

rents rose by 8.6% just in the last 12 months. And demand is massive as well. The property website

Zupla says there are 15 people chasing each home that's available for rent. That's more than

double pre-pandemic levels. So today we're

asking what will the changes mean for your money and for your home? Well the King outlines

the government's plans but not in any great detail so I'm joined now by Moneybox Live
