I want to direct your attention to Psalm 8 today.

And what a Psalm it is. There are certain Psalms in the Bible that are just so quotable.

And this is one of them. In fact, I would dare say there probably are some of you listening right now or watching

who have memorized this Psalm. It's just one of those Psalms that really resonates.

In fact, that's true today, and it was true during the time of Christ, because this very

Psalm was quoted by Jesus. It was quoted by Paul, and it was

quoted by the author of Hebrews, who may have been Paul as well. So not only is this Psalm

quotable today, it was quotable many, many years ago. Written by David, Psalm 8, it says to the chief musician upon

get teeth, which can be translated the instrument of gath, gath being the place where Goliath was

from, gath or ghat, also meaning wine press. So scholars have wondered what this means.

It could mean that this was an actual musical instrument that was made in Gath, where Goliath was from.

And of course, David visited there on a couple occasions. So it may be, it may be that it just means a song of victory.
