So welcome to our Rosary Meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

It's called to mind all those we've promised to pray for. We're continuing to pray for the healing of Olivia Caneli for little Thomas Lauer and little Catherine up in Omaha.

And we're in the last week before Easter. So we offer all of our prayer and sacrifice

for all the people submitted to our prayer list for their deeper conversion, because I have

confidence that that grace is flowing out to all of those people in abundance.

This is Monday of Holy Week.

Now, if you remember yesterday from Mass, we read really the just Good Friday and the crucifixion of Jesus, which we will read again at Mass on Friday and then celebrate the resurrection

on Sunday. But really nowhere during this week do we focus on what were the events in the

life of Jesus all throughout Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday, Holy Wednesday, and Thursday during the

day.

Powerful scenes that we will be meditating on during our rosary this week.

So Monday morning of Holy Week, Jesus was returning from Bethany where he had spent the night at the home of his friends Martha

Mary and Lazarus. He was returning to Jerusalem to go to the temple mount to teach. For all week

long, he taught openly and fearlessly in the temple. But as he was headed to Jerusalem, he passed

by Bethphage on the top of the Mount of Olives.

And seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it and found nothing on it but leaves.

And he said to it, may you never bear fruit again.

And at that instant, the fig tree withered and died.

I'm sure this completely astounded the apostles.

Jesus renders judgment upon the fig tree because it was not bearing fruit.
