Yes. And we are going to touch on that in today's first update. But there is going to be more

positive things that we talk about. We're going to have hope for humanity. What do you have

going to go on a trip together. All right. So it's going to be a little bit of everything today.

So welcome to the morning show podcast. My name is Anthony. I'm Carla Marie. And today is Monday,

October 9th, 2023. The core four, the four headlines you need to know. The absolute worst of humanity. That is what we

witnessed this weekend. And now, by most estimates, there are over 1,000 dead across Israel and Palestine.

And unfortunately, those numbers will likely go up in the next few days. Now, I'm going to say this first. I am the

descendant of Palestinian refugees. My Palestinian grandfather, grandmother, and aunt were forced

from their home in 1948 when modern day Israel was established. The reason I say that is to say

that, yes, I do view this conflict in a very specific lens. And even still, anyone with a conscience knows that these heartless attacks on

innocent Israelis were disgusting.

Anyone who has followed the news in the Holy Land knows this weekend's terrible attacks

didn't really ignite a new issue so much as they ripped open a wound in that part of the

world that has never fully healed.

And it's impossible in this update to go over the entire timeline that has led to the

heartbreaking events of this past weekend. You've definitely heard by now that Friday night and

Saturday morning, members of the militant group Hamas fired thousands of rockets and attacked

Israeli citizens

and settlers across the region, ripping them from their homes and killing and kidnapping
