As I'm sure you've heard by now, late last week, Alex Baldwin fired a gun on the set

of the movie Rust, accidentally killing cinematographer Helena Hutchins and wounding the director

Joel Susa.

It's still not entirely clear how this happened when there ordinarily should have been

a ton of safety protocols to prevent it from happening.

But according to an affidavit, one of the crew members screamed out, cold gun before

Baldwin shot the gun, which is meant to indicate that the gun did not have live rounds in

it.

Hutchins is survived by her husband and nine-year-old son, and the incident has since opened

up conversations about safety on sets, especially considering that reports have since come out

that crew members had raised safety concerns prior to the shooting.

Some people in the film and TV industry are now calling for a total ban on real guns

on set, noting that it's possible to create the same effects digitally without using real

fire arms.

Seems like an o-brainer to me.
