Iran's president died in a helicopter crash.

Iranian state media reported this morning that President Ibrahim Raise was killed yesterday.

He was traveling in a helicopter when it crashed in foggy conditions in a mountainous area of

Northwestern Iran.

Nine people were killed, including Iran's foreign minister and other officials.

Riesi was 63 years old.

He was elected president in 2021, becoming Iran's second highest official.

He was an ultra-conservative who oversaw violent crackdowns on

anti-government protests and last month Iran's first direct attack on Israel.

He had been seen as a potential successor to Iran's supreme leader, who is the country's most powerful

figure.

Now, Iran's first vice president Mohammed Mukbear is set to assume presidential powers.

The deaths of some of the country's top leaders come at a time of turmoil.

The war in Gaza has escalated tensions throughout the region. Number two, Michael Cohen will testify again today in Donald Trump's hush money trial.

This will be the former Trump fixers fourth day on the witness stand.

Last week, Cohen gave prosecutors what they were looking for.

He alleged that Trump was directly involved in a scheme to conceal a hush money payment

before the 2016 election.

But Trump's lawyers may have managed to inflict some damage on Cohen
