Hey, friends. Welcome back to today's episode. We're in Matthew Chapter 13, and we're looking at actually another explanation that Jesus gives of a message he's already preached.

So I was thinking a bit about that even in modern preaching, how that, have you ever heard a message where a pastor maybe gave a

message and you're like, I don't really get that. But then toward the second half of his message,

he comes back and says, okay, let me run through that again with a more careful explanation. Then you're like, oh, okay, I get that.

Well, that's kind of what Jesus is doing here. He is giving a parable, and the parable is not entirely

clear to the hearers. And remember, there are always two kinds of hearers, and that's a theme throughout

these parables, that some are going to hear it, some are not going to hear it, some are going to

receive it, good soil, some are not going to receive it, hard-packed soil. And Jesus comes back to a

parable that he has spoken, the parable of the wheat and the tears.

And I think I kind of jumped the gun when I gave the episode a couple days ago,

or yesterday, rather, because I talked about what it meant,

but I think it's better to hear what Jesus said.

So look at verse number 36, where the Bible says, then Jesus sent the multitude away.

So many had heard the message and had walked away, maybe not entirely understanding it.

And remember, Jesus, unlike a modern day preacher, Jesus knows what's in the heart of man.

He discerns what their motives are.

So he has the prerogative to say, I'm going to explain this to some, but not to others.
