The US is dealing with fallout from a massive bank failure.

That's where we're starting the show today.

It's Monday, March 13. Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

On Friday, the U.S. government closed down Silicon Valley Bank. This bank closure

is the second largest bank failure in U.S. history. The banks serve tech

companies like Edy and Roku.

It also worked with startups and venture capitalists.

It revealed last week that it had sold billions of dollars in assets

and was selling more of its own stock to make up for some losses which caused a panic.

The government is now trying to find a buyer for S. V.

Which is how situations like this are normally handled.

So far, it hasn't been able to find one, but the

Biden administration announced last night that all depositors would have access

to all of their money this morning. That's an extraordinary intervention that's aimed at preventing

a crisis in the financial system as markets open up for the week. Number two, heavy losses were reported in a battle for a Ukrainian city.

In his nightly address, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zilinsky said over 1,100 Russian fighters were killed in

Bachmoot this past week. He also said another 1,500 Russian soldiers were out of

action because of the Russian soldiers have pushed Ukrainian forces to Bachmuth's Western edge.

The maneuver has cut off virtually all roads.

Now there's only one road out of the city.
