Our top story this morning. A train crash in eastern India killed 275 people.

Friday night's crash was one of the worst transportation disasters in the country's history.

The tragedy started when a train took the wrong track.

It collided with another train, and soon after that, a third train crashed into the other two.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what went wrong,

but early signs point to problems with the railroad signals that tell drivers to stop,

slow down, or switch tracks. The crash is raising questions about the safety of India's rail network.

It's one of the largest in the world and handles roughly 22 million passengers a day. Number two, the debt ceiling crisis is officially over.

President Biden signed the bill to suspend the debt limit on Saturday, just in time to avoid a default.

The U.S. would have run out of money to pay its bills today.

Biden talked about the importance of the deal on Friday after Congress passed it.

It was critical to reach an agreement and it's very good news for the American people.

No one got everything they won, but the American people got what they needed.

The deal also cuts some federal spending.

It means some people on food stamps and family welfare benefits will have new work requirements.

Plus it ended the hope of another pause on federal student loan payments which are set to resume by the start of September.
