Mexico elected its first female president.

That's where we're starting the seven from the Washington Post. I'm

Hannah Jewel. It's Monday, June 3rd. Happy Pride Month. Let's get you caught up with

today's seven stories. Cloudia Shenbaum is a 61-year-old scientist and the former mayor of Mexico City.

And starting in October, she'll be the president of Mexico.

An official quick count of votes showed her leading with 58% of the vote yesterday.

Her historic triumph ensures another six years in power for the left-leaning

Marana movement.

She'll play a significant role on issues critical to the U.S.

such as migration and drug trafficking.

And she's made another bit of history too.

She'll also be Mexico's first Jewish president.
