It's official, the Supreme Court of the United States has overturned Roe v. Wade.

Roe was the Supreme Court's landmark 1973 decision that ruled that abortion was a constitutionally

protected right.

It meant that, for nearly 50 years, they were effectively no restrictions on abortions

before the point of viability.

On Friday, the Supreme Court overruled Roe in dobs v. Jackson Women's Health.

Without the constitutional protections, the legality of abortion is once again determined

by each state.

Where do the states currently stand?

It's a mixed bag.

There are differences, based on justational age, exclusions, enforcement, and more, that

make each state stance unique.

But broadly speaking, abortions became illegal in six states after the verdict was announced.

Sixteen states are expected to make abortion illegal in the coming days or months.
