Well, welcome back, my friends, to today's episode of Everyday Truth. We are in Matthew 26 and actually verse 26.

We're in the middle of the, what we call the Last Supper, that Passover meal that Jesus was celebrating with his disciples, and we read a whole

lot about it in the book of John. But remember, each one of the Gospels has a very specific

purpose for its writing, and we know that in the book of Matthew, we're viewing Jesus as the

king. So Matthew is emphasizing certain aspects

of the life of Jesus as they relate to his kingship, the fact that he is offering himself as the

legitimate Messiah to the Jewish people, the fact that they are going to reject him, and that's part of what we're

going to read about today, and yet the fact that Jesus will come again and will rule and reign.

And he talked all about that, specifically in the Olivet discourse.
