How does somebody so close to Jesus, so loved by Jesus, so familiar with the things of Jesus,

still betray Jesus?

That's the conundrum of Judas.

And unfortunately, that's been the conundrum of everybody who has ever rejected Jesus.

sitting in my studio. Who else did you expect, right? And we are in Matthew 26. Really looking

forward to jumping into this story. I don't like this story.

I wish it had never happened, but it's part of the gospel account. And it's a good lesson for all

of us that we have to guard our own motives and really examine ourselves. Look at what it says in Matthew 26 and verse number 14,

where it says, then one of the 12 called Judas Iscariot went unto the chief priests and said

unto them. So this is a couple days before the actual crucifixion.

Remember, the high priest are having an assembly. They're trying to figure out how can we

subtly and secretly arrest Jesus and dispense with him. And Jesus has predicted that he will be betrayed. He predicts that he will be

crucified. And this, all of this, after Jesus gives this great teaching about the second

coming and the power of the Messiah and all of it. And now we're seeing in real time how Judas Ascaria is part of this

plot. And the reason I began the podcast the way I did just a moment ago is because Judas would have

been the last one that anybody would have expected to betray the Lord for a couple reasons. First of all,
