Welcome to a brand new week. It's first thing with Kevin Mano, a real quick and efficient look at all the headlines across the board and it starts right now.

And it always starts with the top story.

This is it, obviously, President Biden has dropped out of the race.

He announced yesterday that he will no longer

seek re-election in the upcoming election against former President Trump. Instead, he is endorsing

his Vice President Kamala Harris. Biden posted a statement online explaining his decision. He said

quote, it has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president and

while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best entry of my

party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term.

I will speak to the nation later this week in more detail about my decision. So it sounds like an address is coming this week.

And while he announced Kamala Harris as his successor, that is not a done deal.

She's the most likely candidate to replace him,

but first she'll have to officially secure the nomination from the

party and if that happens right now Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is a top

choice to be her running mate that's not locked either I just keep seeing his name pop up. We will see where this goes.

All right, okay, on to sports. Lots of sports news this morning. First off, Olympics week has arrived.

The opening ceremony in Paris is set to kick off this Friday

around 12.30 PM Central Time. And the women representing the USA in B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B- rest of the best of the W-N-B-A.

And team W-N-B-A won. They beat the Olympians, 117 to 109 Saturday night.

A Ricque O'Goon Bo'Alle was a star of Saturday night. Arike Ogun Boale was a star of the night.
