Well hey friends, happy new year, we're 9 days in but still happy new year.

I was only off for 2 weeks but man, seemed like a lot happened, didn't it?

Andrew Tate was arrested in Romania, DeMar Hamlin, and that on-field injury, all that speaker

of the house drama last week. It's been a lot, but today is a brand new day and it starts right.

Now it's Monday, January 9th, 2023. This is first thing with Kevin Mann,

oh good morning. A few celebs celebrating birthdays today, Nina Dobrev, Kate Middleton,

AJ from the Backstreet Boys, Chad Ocho-Sinko, singer Sean Paul, Dave Matthews, JK Simmons,

and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, that's quite a list. Also on this date in history, 16 years ago,

today Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone. Since then more than 2 billion of those babies have been sold

around the world. This is one device and we are calling it iPhone. Okay, all right let's get

crack and I mentioned this a moment ago and yeah after a very odd week in Washington, we finally have

a new speaker of the house and we have a congress again. That was wild following 15 historic rounds

of floor votes. Late Friday night, Kevin McCarthy finally managed to get the numbers he needed and

is now our 55th speaker of the house. His difficulties don't end there though. The house is set to vote

today on a new rules package and it looks like a lot of those Republicans that challenged their

new leader may withhold their support. It's not going to be an easy job with some of those

strong personalities there in Congress. This whole mess though has had its entertainment value.

If you haven't seen any of those bad lip reading videos, oh my gosh, they're so good. I'm going to

repost some of those up in our Instagram stories right now at first thing pod. If you want to see those

yes, yes, okay, on to some sports headlines. We'll start with a Demar Hamlin update. He's doing

much better. So happy about that. It was hard not to get chills yesterday. The bills were back on

the field for the first time since his injury and the very first play of the game, they scored.
