Summary

One goal with this Money Mindset series is to help you position yourself in a way where you are ready to receive money and steward it well. In more than one place, the Bible says, "Out of the depths of the heart, the mouth speaks." This includes what we say about poverty and money. It is so important that we watch what we say, especially in front of our children. Simply changing "We can't afford that" to "We are choosing to spend our money differently" will make such a huge difference. What are things you say about money that you should reframe and reword?

Language of Poverty

Things you may be saying:

  • We can't afford it.
  • We don't have the money.
  • I can't expand the business.
  • I can't afford help.
  • I can't afford to tithe.
  • Griping about taxes, government, etc.

Hey friend, welcome back to the podcast this is Monday Fire episode number 32 which is a

0:28.5

continuation of last Monday's podcast episode where I talked about having a poverty mindset because as I explained

0:36.5

on that podcast God has really been talking to me about Pauverbs 1322 which is that the

wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous and

0:44.8

which essentially says to me that there is plenty of money to go around in this

world and that there is money just waiting someplace for those of us that God looks at as righteous.

And so I want to know and want you to know how to position myself, especially in the year 2020, the beginning of a new decade, I think.

1:08.0

I don't know, there's some controversy over does the decade start in 2021 or does it start in 2020?

And I'm like, I'm not smart enough to know those things but here's what I know I believe that what the Bible says is true and the Bible says that there is wealth stored up somewhere for me and somewhere for you and so I want to position myself in a way that when God's eyes are

1:24.4

roaming to and fro and he's looking at people that he can bless and he can

1:27.5

filter money to and through that I'm positioned in a way to receive that money

1:31.7

and to steward it really well.

1:33.4

See, it's a twofold thing.

1:35.6

It is the receiving of the money and then stewarding it well.

1:38.5

What are you going to do with it?
