President Donald Trump announced big tariffs on America's closest trading partners.

Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

On Saturday, Trump signed orders to impose tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China.

Together, those three countries account for 43% of all goods that are imported into the U.S.

The tariffs mean that, starting tomorrow, American importers will pay a new

25% tax on most goods from Canada and Mexico, and they'll face an additional 10% levy on products

from China. Business and labor groups have warned these tariffs will cause a profound upheaval

throughout the economy.

The price of goods, including phones, clothes, and groceries could go up fast. But Trump said

the tariffs will be worth the price. He says the move is an effort to pressure these countries

into stopping the flow of drugs and migrants into the U.S.

All three countries promised to retaliate with their own tariffs on American goods.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his country would impose new levies on more than

1,200 American products, including Florida orange juice.

If President Trump wants to usher in a new golden age for the United States,

the better path is to partner with Canada, not to punish us.
