Hey, friends, welcome back to today's episode. I wanted to explain why I'm a little bit dressed up today. I've got the suit coat on, got the sweater on. It's not because I have a special occasion. It's because I am freezing. I wish you could come to Virginia and come back to my office and realize somebody nefariously

imported like the polar air to my office because I'm always freezing.

It might be because it's cold back there or it might be because I'm getting old or it might

be a combination.

But that's why I'm wearing

what I'm wearing today. So just thought you'd want to know that. We are in Matthew chapter 8.

And I think that I mentioned some episodes ago that the book of Matthew is not necessarily

strictly chronological. Remember, Matthew is writing the book of Matthew to demonstrate

something to Jewish readers, and that is that Jesus is the rightful Messiah, that he is the king,

and the Old Testament scriptures are fulfilled in him. And we see his teaching. We've just done that for three chapters,

five, six, and seven. And we see his miracles that validate his teaching. So we're entering now a

section in Matthew that is really helping us to see the miracles of Jesus and how these miracles,

these signs are a validation

of the much more important aspect of Jesus ministry, and that is his message. And his message

is validating his mission. It's a good way to think of it. We have his miracles that validate his

message. His message really is all about
