Candidate Bob Ferguson has withdrawn from the race for Washington governor, probably not the one you're thinking of, though.

All right, pay attention.

Three candidates all named Bob Ferguson filed to get on the ballot last week.

This really irritated the leading Democrat in the governor's race, Attorney General Bob Ferguson,

who called for the other two Bob Ferguson's to drop out.

He says those two other bobs were recruited to split votes from his supporters in the August primary.

Look, it's clear what's going on.

Anti-democracy Republicans orchestrated a deceptive and illegal scheme to deceive voters and illegally influence the election.

Turns out conservative activist Glenn Morgan is behind the controversy.

Morgan told the Seattle Times he wanted to get even more Bob Ferguson's on the ballot.

Not a good plan, though. There's a state law that aims to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

Candidates have until 5 p.m.

this evening to withdraw from consideration. Some major changes coming to one of the largest

philanthropic organizations in the world, Melinda French Gates, co-founder of the Bill and

Melinda Gates Foundation, is stepping down from the organization. In a statement, French Gates says it

wasn't a decision she came too lightly. The name will be changed to the Gates Foundation.

Foundation CEO Mark Sussman released a video message of thanks and a reassurance the foundation's

mission remains the same. To the millions of people our work serves and thousands of partners

we work alongside, you can continue to count on the foundation with our expert leaders and

dedicated employees around the world to stay focused on our important work.
