Bob Ferguson signed an executive order to prepare for possible mass deportations. Scott Greenstone was at the signing.

Organizers chanted keep families together, but Ferguson's order is for what happens when kids are separated from relatives by federal agents. It means ripping families apart.

It means kids losing their parents. It means business losing their workers. It means

communities being significantly altered. Ferguson's order creates a family separation rapid response

team, which would work with schools and refugee resettlement agencies during mass deportations

and find places to stay or next of kin for children whose parents get deported.

Rumors of ICE agents appearing at local restaurants or grocery stores have been circulating on

social media locally, but organizers told me they haven't confirmed any widespread actions yet in
