Good morning, friends, and welcome back to yet another episode of Everyday Truth.

Hope that I sound a bit better today. I'm in the studio here in Fredericksburg, Virginia,

and back from a whirlwind trip. So thanks for being patient when I was at the golf course

in the airport, all the outside noise, all of it. Appreciate your faithfulness. But we got the job done.

We are, as I said, in First Kings 14, I probably should have gone a little bit farther the other day

in the story because we have a hijah, the prophet, who's pronouncing this judgment upon the family

of Jeroboam, especially the son. Remember, his wife disguised herself, went down to Shiloh

to get the message, and things just

did not go as she thought.

First of all, her disguise didn't work.

Second of all, there are hopes that their son would be spared of this illness.

Those hopes are dashed.

And to add an insult to injury, Jeroboam's entire reign is now condemned.

Look at verse 15. For the Lord shall smite Israel as a reed shaken in the water. He shall root up Israel
