We've been having just a really great time here

in Brisbane, Australia.

Missing you, of course, but glad for the miracles of modern technology.

And we are in First Kings today, First Kings chapter number 12.

We ended up last episode talking about bad counsel.

Remember, Rehaboam had sought the counsel of the old man, the wise men,

and they had given him good counsel. If Rehaboam had simply followed that good counsel,

oh, the tragedies that could have been averted, but instead, and God knew this, of course,

he followed the counsel of the younger men, made some really, really bad decisions, and the entire kingdom began to collapse.

We know that this was of the Lord. God had predicted this through a high to the prophet to Jeroboam, the chapter before, but it still does not absolve Rehaboam of his bad choices.

And he made bad choices.

And remember, so stubborn was he in his bad choice that he just assumed that when the people
