I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay, thank you so much. Also, don't forget to check out my YouTube page, Lurie Daniel Favor's Media, where you should subscribe, like, and share, because then you'll get notified when I post videos from my show, which I do just about every single day and when I go live with my YouTube audience. We have a ritual on this show because Black Talklandia work is kind of heavy and you

want to make sure that before you approach heavy work that asks you to think about how you can

0:59.9

change the world, then you have to make sure that you're rooted in a sense of joy, gratitude,

1:05.8

and appreciation so that you will be able to not be trapped by fear, loneliness, and depression. We know that both from lived experience and the science also confirms it. So we have a ritual on this show. It's a pretty simple one. In fact, it goes a little something like a Deus. Hit it. In just a minute, you're going to hear music. When you hear the music, it's going to be an invitation to you to join the rest of us,

because we will then collectively begin taking the slowest, the deepest, the most lung capacity

1:32.0

expanding, joyful heart, invigorate, and troubled mind cleansing, and weary, soul, uplifting,

1:36.1

the most amazingly juicy breath. As we kick off our most important segment of every single day,

1:41.9

it is time for our moment of gratitude. Every day, folks, every day we got to do it.

2:14.7

It matters.

2:16.1

It really is so important.

2:17.4

No matter what else you have going on in your life, I cannot tell you what a difference it makes to create a ritual for yourself.

2:25.1

Some sort of process that you go to that only you go to where you can have just some quiet time with you and whomever you pray to or whatever emotions you need to

2:34.6

tap into in order to get into your happy place. I know not all of us pray and that's fine if that works for

2:39.7

you. It just, it's so important. I cannot stress it enough. And I've said this before, but by the time

2:45.4

we get to this moment of gratitude, this should be the collective experience of something you've

2:49.5

already channeled for yourself, something you've already channeled for yourself,

2:51.2

something you've already experienced on your own, in your own wellness practices.

2:54.6

And this month, as I continually say, the month of August, our theme has been attitude.

2:59.2

And not just attitude towards our circumstances, but also attitude towards the people

3:03.9

and the relationships in our lives.

3:05.1

And most importantly, the attitudes that we
