| 0:00.0 | Welcome to another episode of Lurie Breaks It Down, a podcast where we dig deeply to connect the dots on the issues that shape our world. |
| 0:20.0 | I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay? Thank you so much. |
| 0:37.6 | Also, don't forget to check out my YouTube page, Lurie Daniel Favor's Media, where you should subscribe, like, and share, because then you'll get notified when I post videos from my show, which I do just about every single day and when I go live with my YouTube audience. We got a lot to get to today. Before we get to any of it, we have to do one of the most important things that we possibly can do. |
| 0:57.6 | And I know... audience. We got a lot to get to today. Before we get to any of it, we have to do one of the most |
| 0:54.9 | important things that we possibly can do. And I know getting into the news is important, but if |
| 1:00.3 | you're going into the news, if you're going into the realities that we're facing without doing |

| 1:27.0 | we have to ensure that our emotional |
| 1:28.9 | state of being is as healthy as possible. And for those of you who are spiritually inclined or |
| 1:33.7 | religiously inclined, we have to make sure that our spirits are as connected as they possibly can |
| 1:38.4 | be to whatever source you are tapping into so that when we get to the news, we are, one, |
| 1:43.2 | ain't going to be depressed and beaten down, |
| 1:44.9 | but two, we'll bring to it more than our intellect. We'll bring to it our capacity, our divine |
| 1:51.5 | power, if you will. We have a ritual on this show that allows us to do all of that. And that ritual |
| 1:56.5 | is called a moment of gratitude. And the reason we call it a moment of gratitude is because we |
| 2:00.6 | have learned both from lived experience and from the science that when you are rooted in gratitude, |
| 2:04.9 | you can't be trapped by fear. And there is so much for us to be grateful for. And as much as we can, |
| 2:11.9 | we should be focusing on that and starting every day from a space of gratitude, a space of joy, a space of appreciation, |
